Mary Temple Grandin (born August 29, 1947) is an American scientist and animal behaviorist. Grandin is one of the first individuals with autism to document the insights she gained from her personal experience of autism. She is a prominent proponent for the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and the author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior. Grandin is a consultant to the livestock industry, where she offers advice on animal behavior, and is also an autism spokesperson. She is currently a faculty member with Animal Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University. Dr. Temple Grandin has a unique ability to understand the animal mind – and she's convinced her skill is down to her autistic brain. She is known as the woman who thinks like a "COW".

Temple Grandin is world-famous for being a high-functioning person with autism, but there is so much more to her than that. As she puts it, for her, "being a scientist comes before being autistic."

My name is Maiko Jimson Mwasaka. I am the very first licensed ABA therapist and QABA Certificate in Tanzania and head of ABA Department at Kaizora Child Development center. I was a head of school before I started my new career in 2020.While working as head of school, I was believing that every child has an opportunity to learn by cutting off learning barriers through improving learning environment. After many years of my Education journey, finally I have found the best angle ever to help kids with NDD, parents, care givers and teachers. I feel much better to support others. My goal is to advocate for awareness and acceptance of Autistic children and adults. I do this by sharing the range for how autism and other neurodevelopment disorders can present. This includes the fact that autism is greatly misunderstood in our community. I have been working closely with my supervisor to train new ABA team, and some of them they have employed in other centers to provide ABA services. Currently I am an IBA scholar, and I look forward to an opportunities to support people with Neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. Miriam Loivotoki-Elisha is on a mission to help elementary schools in Tanzania to include learners with Neurodevelopmental diversities in an easy and effective way. Trained as a Molecular biologist and Educational Planner, she has a unique15 years background in bio-medical research, early childhood development, youth’s engagement, disability inclusion and project management in Multi-national projects, rural community development programs and teacher' capacity building and skills training; which provide her clients with unique advantages. She has co-founded a Non-profit and an Inclusive pre-school which has been providing services in Iringa region for the past 5 years. Offering early intervention for learners with Neurodevelopmental diversities such as Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Impairments and Learning disabilities. Nimtaz Walji is clinical dietician with over 10 years of experience in this field. She has an Honors Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a bachelor's degree in Human Biosciences from the University of Cape Town. She also holds a Masters degree in Education, Health Promotion and International Development from University College London. She started her career with the Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam as a clinical dietician in August 2012 and has worked across various clinical depart-ments and units providing her expertise in nutrition care to patients while at hospital and upon dis-charge. Danielle has worked in community settings, residential settings for adults on the spectrum and other disabilities, she has also worked as a Registered Behavior Technician. She has worked with individuals as young as two years old to 87 years old, supporting individuals across all stages of life across settings. She has lived in multiple states in the United States along the East Coast, which has given perspective as to the varying degrees of services provided from state to state. She’s worked for a Fairfax County Government, and currently works for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services as a transition coordinator. She earned a Masters of Science in Developmental Disabilities from Nova Southeastern University in 2021. Her personal journey has propelled her to raise awareness about Autism whenever opportunity arises with the hope of reducing stigma and discrimination and creating a more accepting and inclusive world for all. Having a medical background was not enough to prepare her to raise a child with special needs, her son’s diagnosis set her on the journey. She has supported several Autism awareness and advocacy activities in Uganda, and she has become a beacon of hope for other parents, educators, and professionals in the Autism space. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Advancing Autism Family Support Organization Uganda, an organization founded by parents and family members with persons living with ASD, whose objectives are to empower persons with ASD to realize their full potential, sensitize the public about Autism to reduce stigma and discrimination among other things.

Billy Boston is a founder and executive director of Blooming Bud Centre for special needs children Mombasa Nyali. A special needs educator for 13 years and a counseling psychologist for 6 years. Francine is a certified member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists, Kenya. She holds a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Francine has practiced speech therapy in both hospital (Agakhan University Hospital, Nairobi) and school setups; majority of her experience being in school setups where she has worked extensively with different populations particularly children and adults on the spectrum. Francine works closely with individuals and their families to facilitate effective communication skill development and implementation. Currently, Francine is the Speech Therapist at Nairobi Early Intervention Centre in Lavington, Nairobi, Kenya;a center that works on giving neurodivergent children and adults a safe space to be themselves and also offers different therapies depending on the uniqueness needs at hand.

Lucia supported children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and neurodevelopmental disorders. Mr Jonathan Cheruiyot Metet is a renowned National Disability Rights Advocate from Kenya. He has eleven years of experience in disability matters and voluntary Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities . He is a parent of a teenage form three daughter with disability. He is a full time Employee of Technical University of Mombasa Under the State Department for University Education based in the Administration, Finance and Planning Division where he has been tasked with additional responsibilities as Disability Mainstreaming Champion and serves in the University Boards and Committees as a Member of Disability Mainstreaming Committee and Aids Control Unit. He is also Management Committee Representive (MANCO) for Staff Pensions. Mr Metet also serves at the National and County Level as Member Board of Management St Paul Charera Special School /Chairperson Special Sub Committee St Paul Charera Special Junior Secondary School. Member Kilifi County Disability Network and Member PWD Technical Working Group Mombasa County. He is also Founding Chairman Pamoja Parents for Deaf. He has participated in various National Conference and PWD activities across the country.

Yasmeen Alqallaf is an Autism Specialist and an Autism Mother. Her son is 14 years old. She is the general manager of Al- Faisal Universal Center. She is an Accept Autism Team Leader.

Mr. Nicholas Ndungu, the reigning Mr. Autism Kenya 2023. Overcoming developmental challenges and dyslexia, Nicholas is currently a Year 11 student, homeschooling to complete his high school exams. He's also pursuing computer animation at Talanta Institute and Neurodivergent in Tech training at Strathmore University. Nicholas's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Nichosville Food Court in 2020, where he's been actively involved. He's also launched the Mr. Autism Kenya 2023 (Nicholas Dyslexic Advocate) YouTube channel and Youth forum, raising awareness about dyslexia and autism.

Dr. Philip B. Adebayo is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Aga University, Dar es Salaam. He is also a Consultant Neurologist with the Aga Khan Hospital, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Dr. Adebayo currently leads the stroke multidisciplinary team of the Aga Hospital Dar es Salaam where he co-ordinates the institutional acute stroke fast pathway.
