Author, Speaker and Autism Rights Activist
Mary Temple Grandin (born August 29, 1947) is an American scientist and animal behaviorist. Grandin is one of the first individuals with autism to document the insights she gained from her personal experience of autism. She is a prominent proponent for the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and the author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior. Grandin is a consultant to the livestock industry, where she offers advice on animal behavior, and is also an autism spokesperson. She is currently a faculty member with Animal Sciences in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University. Dr. Temple Grandin has a unique ability to understand the animal mind – and she's convinced her skill is down to her autistic brain. She is known as the woman who thinks like a "COW".
Temple Grandin is world-famous for being a high-functioning person with autism, but there is so much more to her than that. As she puts it, for her, "being a scientist comes before being autistic."
She is internationally famous as a spokesperson on autism.

My name is Maiko Jimson Mwasaka. I am the very first licensed ABA therapist and QABA Certificate in Tanzania and head of ABA Department at Kaizora Child Development center. I was a head of school before I started my new career in 2020.While working as head of school, I was believing that every child has an opportunity to learn by cutting off learning barriers through improving learning environment. After many years of my Education journey, finally I have found the best angle ever to help kids with NDD, parents, care givers and teachers. I feel much better to support others. My goal is to advocate for awareness and acceptance of Autistic children and adults. I do this by sharing the range for how autism and other neurodevelopment disorders can present. This includes the fact that autism is greatly misunderstood in our community. I have been working closely with my supervisor to train new ABA team, and some of them they have employed in other centers to provide ABA services. Currently I am an IBA scholar, and I look forward to an opportunities to support people with Neurodevelopmental disorders and their families. Miriam Loivotoki-Elisha is on a mission to help elementary schools in Tanzania to include learners with Neurodevelopmental diversities in an easy and effective way. Danielle Terrell gravitated to the human service field 7 years ago. Danielle has worked in community settings, residential settings for adults on the spectrum and other disabilities, she has also worked as a Registered Behavior Technician. She has worked with individuals as young as two years old to 87 years old, supporting individuals across all stages of life across settings. She has lived in multiple states in the United States along the East Coast, which has given perspective as to the varying degrees of services provided from state to state. She’s worked for a Fairfax County Government, and currently works for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services as a transition coordinator. Dr. Emile Gouws is an internationally renowned disability activist that attends Commonwealth and United Nations higher political meetings. Dr Gouws has recently been elected as the president of the Board of ICDL and is only the 3rd person to hold this position. In his free time, Dr Gouws was recently the Vice-chairman of the National Executive committee of Autism South Africa and currently represents underrepresented groups on the Commonwealth Disabled Peoples Forum, In 2023, Dr Gouws have been nominated for the Commonwealth Youth awards and is the first and only elected as a member of Africa from the Autistic research Committee of INSAR (International Society for Autistic research).
